Cone Flower

The cone flower is part of the daisy family, and is also known as Echinacea…a herbaceous plant. They are wonderful for a garden, due to their tolerance for drought situations.

Echinacea is believed to have medicinal benefit, especially for warding off colds, if taken at the first sign of one.

I love them in my garden. They are hardy and their bright color brightens up the area they are planted in. I like the shape of the leaves turned downward. I took this last year, and am waiting for this year’s blossoms.

  1. This is a beautiful blossom. We had snow today — I’m really looking forward to Spring.
