I am glad to say that my friend came through his four-hour, quadruple by-pass surgery today without any problems. His wife, is so relieved, and of course, I am too.
He is a young man, only 62-years old. He eats healthy and takes care of himself, so his situation was a shock to everyone. At least he is recovering and looks good.
It was a bit sad, they were staying at a hotel on Thursday of last week, because they were leaving Friday morning to fly to their son’s wedding. They live about two hours from the airport, and didn’t want to be driving in rush hour traffic early Friday morning. Shortly after checking into the hotel, his issues began. He had severe chest pains, and he was rushed to the hospital, which was close to the hotel.
They obviously did not get to the wedding, but thankfully his heart problems occurred while they were still in California, and not on the airplane or at the wedding. That is one of the positive notes to all of this, along with the fact that he is recovering well.
The tree of life carries us on its branches, stretching, reaching ever forward, like a river moving towards the unknown on our life journeys.
Update to update: He is doing as well as can be expected, but he is really out of it with medication, and was in pain, which is to be expected after what he went through.
