I have been spending most of my time indoors, except for the occasional walk-for-exercise in my neighborhood. I have mainly been reading and browsing online. I haven’t had much of an opportunity to use my camera, or even my phone’s camera.
Yesterday, March 21st, was International World Poetry Day. It was also International Day of Forests. Both those ‘days’, and topics are of great interest to me.
I love the forest, more than I could ever articulate. Trees, their shadows, their mode of shelter for unknown amounts of little species that reside within them, amaze me. Their exterior bark, the branches, branchlets, that haven’t reached maturity astound me as they stretch out and beckon to the world, ‘look at me, look at me’, I am worthy, and beautiful, of your attention. That is basically how I feel looking at trees. They are the soul of the earth, hidden beneath its crust, roots stretching more than the eye could ever see.
Let us never forget their incredible contribution to our planet. Without them, where would we be, in time’s continuum?
Spring, spring, the goldfinches will sing! -Lorri M.
This is an older photo, used in other blogs. Today it is spring, and this particular photo came to mind. It is one of my favorites.
Let us be thankful, and grateful, for what we have, during this terrible global pandemic. Let us try to bring smiles to each other, virtually, however we can. Let us remember to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us, during this time of quarantines and illness. Even through a window, or outside on a lawn, every ‘I love you’ means so much to those inside.
Let us all take care of each other, in our creative and unique ways, when physical touching is not possible.
Spread love, joy and kindness.
